Enlightenment Desktop is undergoing heavy development and one can expect stable E17 desktop to release soon. Its high time to have a taste of it and test it for bugs and other abnormalities. The good news is that there is a PPA in Ubuntu that allows you to install builds from SVN, thus providing latest snapshots of this desktop.

Oracle will ship the stable version of JDK 8 on summer next year. However, some early builds are already available which you may install for testing purposes. To do this in Ubuntu, you will need to add a Personal Package Archive or PPA and download the installer., The installer will fetch the JDK binaries for you.
