According to a report by ComScore Samsung has emerged as the top OEM followed by LG, Motorola and Apple. Samsung now controls more than quarter (25%) of the US smartphone market, LG is not behind and holds 19.7% of the market whereas Motorola enjoys 13.6% of the pie. Apple has stayed at around 12.8%.

Android has stayed the leading mobile opreating system and now inching towards 50% of the market share. Android now controls 48.6% of the market. Apple is far behind with 29.5% of the market.

RIM, as usual, contrinues to lose the market share and has shrunk to 15.2%. Another loser is Microsoft, which continues to lose the makert. Microsoft now holds less than 5% of the US smartphone market.

No wonder Apple is so scared of Samsung.
