UK's Getac has developed a 7-inch rugged tablet, named Z710, which the company claims is the smallest and most robust Android tablet on the market.

This Android tablet can withstand five ft drops, water and dust ingress (IP65), and boasts the rugged military grade MIL-STD-810G rating. The Z710 can also operate in the coldest and hottest of environments, from -30 degrees C to +60 degrees C.

Peter Molyneux, Vice President Getac UK, says "The rugged tablet market is going to be very exciting and dynamic and will help to bring flexibility of operation, communication and connectivity to a whole host of sectors."

The Z710 comes with various input/output ports including USB, Micro SD, and SIM card, with 16GB of storage (expandable by MicroSD). It comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, front (HD) and rear (5 megapixel) cameras.
