openSUSE 11.0 has reached its end-of-life. One of the most popular Gnu/Linux distros openSUSE 11.0 lived for over 2 years.
“With the release of a rpm security fix on Friday 23rd of July we have released the last update for openSUSE 11.0,” says the community page.
openSUSE 11.0 is now officially discontinued and out of support. The first version of 11.x series OpenSUSE 11.0, was released on June 17, 2008 making it 2 years and 1 month of security and bugfix support.
The openSUSE project is one of the most dynamic projects and releases new version every eight months. A version of openSUSE was earlier supported with critical updates for two years from the release date. This changed with version 11.2. Now critical updates are provided for two releases plus two months, which means a support lifetime of 18 months.
