Oracle has announced that the JavaOne 2010 opening keynote will feature Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and Oracle Executive Vice President Thomas Kurian, who will discuss the company’s vision and strategy for Java.

“JavaOne will have more sessions, greater focus on pure Java topics and more compelling content,” said Rick Schultz, vice president, Oracle Product Marketing. “We look forward to sharing all of this with the global developer community and making JavaOne 2010 the best to date.”

The event is critical as Oracle recently sued Google over the use of Java in its Android OS.

JavaOne will take place September 19-23, 2010, and will feature more than 400 sessions; including more than 100 Birds of a Feather sessions and several hands-on labs. JavaOne will run concurrently with Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco, and attendees will have access to all Oracle OpenWorld keynotes, exhibition halls, the Oracle Users Forum (which will include Java User Groups, the MySQL Sunday program, and networking and evening events.)

JavaOne offers a unique opportunity to learn about Oracle’s strategy for the Java platform. Attendees will also hear from industry leaders and Java technology experts on a wide range of technical topics from the core Java platform and Java Platform - Enterprise Edition, to mobile and embedded, to JavaFX.
