Google has updated its stable channel for Chromebooks (Acer AC700, Samsung Series 5, and Cr-48). The latest version of Google chrome running on these devices is Chrome 13. In order to upgrade, just restart your Chromebook.
It also means new features for regular Chrome browser users as well. This update brings all the new features of the Chrome browser to the Chromebook.
The feature has added Google Cloud Print settings to Settings > Under the Hood. It now allows auto-connect using 3G, remove/forget added VPN connections and 802.1x support.
The update brings the most needed feature -- USB mounting of Android.
The Browser
Chrome the browser now offers print preview Linux and Windows users. Mac support will be coming later.
"In addition to adding new features to Chrome, we're continually working to improve our old favorites. The omnibox, Chrome’s combination search box and address bar, has gotten much smarter in the latest release, making it even easier for you to get back to pages you’ve visited before. Just type part of the page's address or title and look in the dropdown for matching pages from your history," writes Timo Burkard, Software Engineer, Google.
