Opera has officially released a new version of its desktop browser – Opera 11.50 – adding widget-like "extensions" to the familiar Speed Dial page that appears each time you open a new tab.The home page of opera has live download counter.

Prior to 11.50, speed dial only offered thumbnails that linked to the website you visited most often. With new release you can install speed dial with extensions that keep you updated on what is happening around the web. For example you don't need to vist a website a get the weather update. Just install the related speed dial extension and you will get a glance of the weather update each time you open a tab.

Other updates include the password synchronization. Opera- Link supports passwords, so you can synchronize your website passwords—securely—with other Opera browsers. It's perfect for checking Facebook quickly when you're supposed to be working, faster CSS and SVG rendering.

The opera 11.50 also has some goodies for developers Opera: 11.50 adds Session History and Navigation, the W3C File API, classlist and the <time> element to our already advanced HTML5 support.

Unfortunate, as it is, Opera is a proprietary browser. Wish Opera go open source. It will become the best and the most loved browser.
