Ubuntu team has announced the release of alpha 1 of Ubuntu 12.04. This is an LTS version and Ubuntu teams will try to keep this version more stable and bug-free. Since it's the alpha release there is neither much to see or talk about. It does give a rough sketch of the default applications that will be shipped with Ubuntu 12.04.

This versions is dropping Banshee (which created quite a bad press for Ubuntu) and replacing it with previous default Rhythmbox. The alpha of 12.04 comes with Firefox 9, latest Linux kernel (3.2.0-2) and the newest Ubuntu Software Center which comes with multiple screen-shots of apps to give users better idea about the apps.
