I got the idea of this section "One Android App A Day" when we drove down to the Knokke Beach in Belgium. We were looking for a parking spot and once we found it we were doubtful that we will be able to find our car in the maze of the beach town streets and parking lots.
I installed this app and that's when it occurred to me to start a section about useful Android apps that I or you (read at the end) recommend.
Where did I park my car?
Today we are talking about ParkDroid App. This app helps your in tagging the parked location of your car so that you can freely roam around and find your car using your Android phone's GPS system and digital compass. The app is extremely easy to use and is available for free of cost.
Is there a parking lot?
The app also helps you in finding parking spots in the area, it shows both paid and free parking spots as well.
You can also share your fav parking spots with your friends so that they can also park nearby.
How to install
Just search for the app on your Android Market and click to install. When you park you car, turn on the GPS and app and then flag your location (the flag will turn green and mark your location.) It will also create a car marker in the notification bar. Once you are done with your shopping and want to find your car, just pull down the car notification and click on the green flag, it will give you turn by turn instructions to reach your car.

Cool features of the app:-
- Show parking places in your area;
- Get walking directions to your car;
- Parking meter alarm;
- Show parking areas find via internet;
- Show just released/open parking spots.
