If you want to search information about a movie right from the dash, Unity Movie Lens is the one stop solution. The lens uses themoviedb as a backend and has extensive database about movies from all genres.

You can search information about actors as well as movie titles using this lens. The lens supports previews and allows you to access some information by right clicking on a result. Clicking the result opens up the web browser and redirects you to the result web page.

The lens also has the ability to show you trailers and previews of the movie. You will open up totem and stream the trailer there when you click on the trailer link.

This version is more customizable then before because it supports some nice filters. Along with a setting to block adult results, you can also specify what you want to search (actors or movies).

To install this lens, add a Launchpad Personal Package Archive. Open terminal and type the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/lenses
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install unity-lens-movie
