With government agencies trying to eavesdrop on every communication medium, privacy concerns have increased for many people who do not like to get under surveillance. Silent Circle has come up with an easy to use Android app with peer-to-peer encryption service which can ensure communications are secure.
A group of top security experts and cryptographers has created this new service aimed to provide private and secure communication. The goal of Silent Circle is to build the world’s first commercial custom-built encrypted communications network.
Silent Circle is a peer-to-peer encryption service, which means there are no central servers that hold the encryption keys. Each device creates an encryption key when as the call is made. Right after the call is ended, the key is shredded, eliminating the possibility of retroactive compromise.
One quite cool Mission Impossible style feature of this application is the “BURN NOTICE” function that self-destruct after a time delay. Apart from this, you get a Silent Number, a personal individualized phone number for your secure calls, secure video chat and peer-to-peer calling for calls outside of the circle as well.
Silent suite package with this app is available for 20$/month. The company claims to already have a nice customer base, with clients from MNCs, celebrities and human rights groups.
