HP is developing its own mobile OS for tablets, as known as Open webOS. The operating system is under high development for several months and community membership is on a rise. It will be the right time to download the images and give yourself a try.
We tested Open webOS on VirtualBox by downloading the live image from here. Its capable of running on x86 PCs. The OS is not complete yet, with only a few apps currently installed by default, like Web Browser, Contacts, Calender and Memos, Email, Calculator and Clock. We couldn't find a app store to install new applications yet. The web browser is fast and the page almost fills up the whole screen.
The overall experience was smooth and well designed for touch interface. Download the image (110mB only), give it a try and let us know your experiences.
