gnome

Gnome 3.6 has been released, and developers are now busy with the next Gnome release, Gnome 3.8. We have compiled a list of new apps that may ship with the next Gnome release, along with some handy screenshot for each. For time to time, we will keep you updated about development of these apps, most of which are currently in design phase.

Transfers:

No screenshots of design have been provided yet, but this app will manage all your file transactions,  e.g. Downloads, Uploads, File Copy and Move etc. Users will get notifications when a transfer is complete along with Gnome integration for each.

Maps

A map application, currently in design phases. Possibly users will be able to search places and plan a route right from the desktop,

Notes

Gnome has some great note taking apps like Gnote, Tomboy etc, but this app will feature greater integration with the desktop.

Weather

A comeback of the weather applet of Gnome 2.6? Also integration with Gnome Maps is planned.

Software

A software center (enhancement of PackageKit) for apps and games.

Oops

A problem viewing and bug reporting tool.

Music

The ultimate Gnome music player.
