Ubuntu 12.10 release is coming closer and Canonical has just opened up a new section in its store for Ubuntu 12.10 DVDs. While you can download the .iso file for free and burn it into a disk, it becomes handy to keep a DVD with you, specially if you want to install it on multiple computers and show it off to your friends.

It is to be noted that this version of Ubuntu will feature a single 800 mB image and earlier alternate Ubuntu images have been dropped. Also due to increase in size of source code for apps and Linux kernel, its impossible to fit the image in a CD like before.

A desktop/server DVD costs £4.71/$7.99 each while a server. You can also purchase multiple DVDs as bundles, like 3 desktop DVDs and 2 server DVDs at  £5.90/$10.01 from the Canonical Store.
