AKAI,the Japanese brand has launched the AKAI Smart Box in India. It transforms any television including CRT, Plasma, LCD or LED into a smart TV.

With its Android operating system, the Smart Box converts a normal TV into a PC. While it upgrades the existing TV, it also creates a hotspot if connected to a LAN cable or 3G Dongle as it transmits Wi-Fi signal to operate other gadgets. It also supports 2G network.

It's powered by a 1.25 GHz CPU Processor, has Unlimited Internet Browsing (Open System) with Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet port, a 3G Dongle and 2G Network support, 4GB Internal Memory with a card slot that supports up to 32GB and In-built IM (Google Talk, Skype, Yahoo) & Social Networking Sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) And it comes with a wireless mouse.

The device will be available across India for Rs 6590/- (M.R.P. Rs. 6990/-).
