The launch of the new Netfilx UI interface was a highly publicized stuff, but the hidden feature that was added with the update failed to see the lime light. It is discovered that the new Netflix app now allows you to use your Android device as a remote control for Netflix on your PS3 as long as both are on the same local network.

Once the two apps are running, you can browse for a movie or TV show as usual on your phone or tablet but when you try to play, it asks you to choose where it will play. So now, you can choose your PS3 to play the movie on the big screen. In addition, while the video is playing you can stop, pause or seek through it to a certain point, change the audio or subtitles, choose a different episode or even browse for something entirely different without stopping the action.

It seems this feature is still in testing phase because not all devices received this feature with the update. This also explains the reason why the feature was not highlighted when the update was rolled-out to the public. YouTube with its recent update has added similar feature which will work with PS3.
