Mageia, an Mandriva based Linux distribution has completed two years of existence. The distribution was founded back in September 2010 and unlike Mandriva, it is a totally community based distro that relies on contributions from the community for its progress.

Earlier this year, Mageia became popular and rose to #4 spot on Distrowatch. The distro is RPM based and features easy installation and use with an out-of-box experience for its users. Mageia 2 is currently released and Mageia 3 is still in the alpha stages of development.

The distro is always looking for contributions, so if you always wanted to get started in giving back to the community, here is a chance. Head over this page to learn more about contributing to Mandriva.
