Enlightenment Desktop is undergoing heavy development and one can expect stable E17 desktop to release soon. Its high time to have a taste of it and test it for bugs and other abnormalities. The good news is that there is a PPA in Ubuntu that allows you to install builds from SVN, thus providing latest snapshots of this desktop.

To add the PPA, open terminal and run the following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:hannes-janetzek/enlightenment-svn
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install e17

The desktop is lightweight and consumes just 140 mB of RAM in my x86 computer. You can also have a look at Bodhi Linux that provides e17 desktop by default.
