Popular open-source content managemant system Joomla! will now support better integration with Google services, namely Picasa, Google Calender, Adsense, Maps and Analytics. Aaron Schmitz, a student developer working on Joomla! as his GSoC project has made this thing possible.
With Picasa integration, users will now be able to retrieve a list of albums, photos and meta data such as picture name, title, date uploaded etc. Also one will be able to upload photos directly to Picasa from Joomla! itself. You will also be able to get Google Calender events in your Joomla! powered website and get report about AdSense earnings without opening AdSense page. Maps can be inserted in websites running Joomla!, thanks to Google Maps integration and you can closely follow your site performance and visitors with Google Analytics.
