ownCloud has announced a deal with Standing Cloud to offer a rapid-deploy cloud file sync and share service. The 'deal' between ownCloud and Standing Cloud makes it easier for business to deploy ownCloud.

Standing Cloud gives companies the security and flexibility of ownCloud Business Edition, the functionality and ease of use of a hosted offering, and the choice of more than 15 leading cloud service providers, at a single bundled price for hosting and file sync and share services.

Now, businesss customers can also get a three-hour test drive to see if it meets their requirements.

Matt Richards, Vice President, Products for ownCloud, said. “Giving customers the choice of multiple cloud providers from a single interface is a key benefit and a unique advantage of Standing Cloud. Customers can now use ownCloud to host their most critical data themselves.”

Not only that, the deal also allows ownCloud customers to choose the cloud provider, data center and geography of their choice for their deployment from among a wide range of leading public cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, GoGrid, VPS.net and more.

Another great advantage of using ownCloud through Standing Cloud is that it is completely portable from cloud-to-cloud, meaning users are never locked-in to a single platform or cloud provider. They can quickly add capacity or move to another cloud, and are protected against downtime and service outages.
