Telepathy, the chat client for KDE has got a major update. The chat client now supports displaying pictures and videos from the links provided by the users and also text formatting as in Gtalk. A screenshot:

All these features are due to the improvements in plugin architecture of Telepathy. Some plugins can also display Maths formulas, Youtube videos and read out messages for you. With Krunner integration, now you can just type “im away” to change your chat status to away. Also, the contact list has been redesigned with the minimalistic approach in mind and looks a lot cleaner.
