If you have a passion for photography and have a nice set of photographs clicked that can be suitable as desktop backgrounds, you can now submit them for inclusion in Ubuntu Quantal Wallpaper Set.

Canonical has already a Flickr group for this purpose. However, number of photograph submitted is limited to one per person. You submission needs to be licensed under CC by SA license. Some of the other requirements are:

  • Images shouldn’t be busy and filled with too many shapes and colours, a similar tone throughout is a good rule of thumb
  • They should have a single point of focus, a single area that draws the eye in
  • We should avoid having anything on the left and top edges as this will clash with the interface elements of the Launcher and Panel
  • Try your image at different aspect ratios to make sure something important isn’t cropped out on smaller/ larger screens

Head over this page and submit them now.
