KDE

If you are using LightDM with KDE as your display manager, you will now not face flickering issue between greeter and KDE splash screen. With this update, this issue has been fixed. Some of the other issues that has been fixed are:

  • Better keyboard navigation
  • Last user to log in is remembered and automatically selected
  • Background images can be scaled either keeping the aspect ratio, or stretched
  • Translations have been included

The sources can be obtained from here while the binaries will be soon available in Kubuntu backports repos.

LightDM is a lightweight and fast display manager that can replace KDM of GDM for a faster startup. It ships by default in Ubuntu.
