Ouya, an effort to bring open souce to gaming has hit $8.6 million mark in Kickstarter. Promoted as "a new kind of video game console", it uses Android as the base of operating system. The Los Angeles based project had set a goal of $950,000 in total previously.

The team has also launced a new webite Ouya.tv where you can pre-order the console and controller for $109.
 
"We just added game streaming through OnLive! Final Fantasy will be on OUYA...and we have an exclusive game! And VEVO has agreed to put their music videos on OUYA, XBMC adds a streaming media app, with TuneIn and iHeartRadio adding music!"
We can expect shipments of first consoles in the first quater next year.
