Quite a co-incidence. We just published an article about managing your Nikon DSLR cameras using your Android devices, and here comes a rumor that Nikon is planning to announce Android based cameras.

The Indonesian Communication Agency reveals the name of the camera as Coolpix S800, which will run Android 2.3 and also support Google's Play Store and all it's apps. Many other camera players have expressed desires to use Android and create smart cameras.

The point-and-shoot Coolpix S800 will have wi-fi support, GPS for geo-tagging, 3.5-inch screen, 25-200 zoom lens, according to the rumors.
