The XBMC Team are hoping to bring the XBMC media center platform to the cheap, $99 Android based gaming console, Ouya. The move comes after thousands of requests from XBMC fans. Currently talks are on between the two teams, and we can hope to get some positive results.

An XBMC team member posted in their blog:

Maybe it was inevitable. Maybe it was because of the hundreds, if not thousands, of demands on Twitter, in blogs, on Facebook, in Reddit, and in Kickstarter comments. Maybe it’s because many of Team Ouya support XBMC, and nearly a third of Team XBMC members are Ouya backers.

With this functionality, one will be able to play games as well as see movies, listen music and watch videos without the need of expensive equipments.

Earlier this month, XBMC had announced its plans to integrate XBMC in Android powered set top boxes.
