Cinnamon binaries are now available in Fedora repositories, and you can install the Cinnamon desktop in Fedora 17 Beefy Miracle with the help of following simple commands:
- First switch to the root user using su and type your root password: su
- Then update the source metadata: yum update
- Finally install the desktop using yum: yum install cinnamon
After you restart your PC, you will get a Cinnamon choice in the login menu. Login using your username and password and enjoy a lightweight and fast fork of Gnome 3.
