The Debian Release team has announced the new name for Debian 8. This release will be codenamed “Jessie” and the team is yet to announce a release date. The team is currently busy with freezing and bug fixing Debian 7 codenamed “wheezy”. This release is scheduled to be out hopefully at the end of this year.

As quoted from the Debian devel mailing list:

It's become a tradition that the reward for reading all the way through
our first post-freeze mail is to be one of the first few to know the
name of the next release.  Continuing in that vein, we are happy to
announce that Debian 8.0 will be known as "Jessie"

You can read more about Debian releases here. Debian 7 will feature Linux 3.x kernel and is currently in testing phase.
