Canonical has released the third alpha release of Ubuntu 12.10. This is the last alpha release in the cycle, and would be followed by beta releases (Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 1). Some of the major changes in this release are:

  • Redefined Nautilus with new theme, icons and copy to and move to actions
  • Unity 6.0 is more optimized and has increased frame rates. The HUD is also improved and Unity now supports radio support in music lens.
  • The indicator menu now has more options like About This Computer and Ubuntu Help.
  • Software Updater has got a minimalist look and approach.

You can download this release from this link. Like all alpha releases, this may be unstable and unsuitable for production use.
