KDE developers are working on Qt frontend of the NetworkManager. This will ease creating and managing network connections for KDE users. We had posted earlier about the blueprint of QtNetworkManager, and currently, a patch has been added that allows users to configure wireless and wired connections. Some screenshots:

Plasma Network manager currently ships with some major KDE distros like Fedora KDE, Kubuntu etc. You can install in in  your ubuntu based disro by issuing the following command:

sudo apt-get install network-manager-kde
