Canonical recently published a list of top apps in their developer blog. While Humble Bundle titles are the most downloaded in the top paid apps, Electronic Arts games like Command and Conquer and Lord of Ulitima grabbed the top two positions in free apps section. This month, however, Command and Conquer has been downloaded more than Lord of Ultima.
Top Free Apps are:
- Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances
- Lord of Ultima
- Plex Media Server [NEW!]
- Ryzom
- CrossOver (Trial)
- ScreenCloud [NEW!]
- IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition [NEW!]
- Full Circle Magazine #59
- Fetchnotes
- Vendetta Online
And the list of top paid apps:
- LIMBO [NEW!]
- Bastion [NEW!]
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent [NEW!]
- Braid
- Oil Rush
- Fluendo DVD Player
- The Journey Down: Chapter One
- Psychonauts [NEW!]
- LibreOffice 3.4 Getting Started [NEW!]
- Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP [NEW!]
As shown above, a majority of them are new apps. Ubuntu has been recently attracting more developers to push their apps in the Ubuntu Software Center. The Ubuntu App Showdown concluded successfully with nearly 150 new apps being made. Hopefully, they will land up in Software Center soon.
