Fedora 18, codenamed Spherical Cow, will feature KDE Workspaces 4.9. This was decided in Fedora Engineering and Steering Committee meeting held on 16th of July.

Among the new approved features are Eucalyptus, a cloud computing software platform, Gnome IBus integration for better keyboard integration and GSS Proxy. IBus Typing Booster has also been approved. This will enable users to enter only partial words and complete the rest from suggestions using a click of mouse. Thus, typing speed will improve drastically and also users will have to type less.

You can view the log of meeting here. Fedora 18 is scheduled to be released later this year and will feature the new Gnome 3.6 desktop, a new package manager, OfflineUpdates, InitialExperience and more.
