Three weeks of Ubuntu App Showdown Workshops have been completed, and 150 apps were made and submitted during this period. Out of them, 132 qualified for the next round of judges' voting. Currently, this apps will be reviewed and rated by the judges and results will be announced by week of 23rd July. The winner will get exciting prizes such as laptops and smartphones.
Community voting will begin after that, and the apps will also be available in Ubuntu Software Center. You can get a list of all qualified apps and learn more about each of them from this page.
Canonical had started a workshop on developing Ubuntu apps three weeks before. Lot of developers participated in the event and submitted their apps. You can still get the videos of workshops and learn about Ubuntu application development.
