Google’s Chrome Web Store is getting some really nifty apps, and I will be writing about them at a regular basis as I plan to spend most of my ‘Internet’ time on the Chromebook and see if it can be a great device for writers and journalists.

I am a heavy Google Drive and Dropbox user. Don’t get me wrong, I never use cloud as my primary or the only storage, but considering the amount of devices I have and I am travelling a lot having a copy of my data on the cloud does make a lot of sense.

There is only one issue I have with the Google Drive. Since I am a pure Linux guy (I use Ubuntu, Fedora and openSUSE as my primary distros) the lack of Google Drive client for Linux is painful, I hope Google will release a client soon.

Still I keep a lot of data on Google Drive so when I planned to spend more time with my Chromebook, one of my first requirements were how well integrated are Chrome apps with Google Drive so that I can save the data directly to the cloud and be able to access from all my devices instead of having it sit only on that one device.

Google Drive Apps
The good news is there are a lot of Chrome apps which are fully now integrated with Google Drive and it is extremely easy to find such apps. Just go to the Chrome Web Store and under Collections look for Google Drive.

Here you will find all those apps which offer integration with Google Drive. These apps have a grey Google Drive icon which tells that these apps work with the drive. So even you are searching for an app in the Web Store you can easily identify those apps which will integrate with Google Drive if they have that icon. I found some pretty interesting apps in the Web Chrome Store which offer such integration.

I would like to tell you that this entire article was composed, edited and posted from a Chromebook. All the images were created using chromebook apps.

I will be writing about such apps on a regular basis so keep an eye on this page. Also, if you are a Chromebook, ChromeOS or Chrome user you can stay updated with Chrome related news, blogs and tips. Just visit this page.
