If you use Gnucash on your PC to track your expenses and accounts, here is great news for you. Now you will be able to do the same from any Android powered device. This application has been ported to Android and should run on Android version 2.2 and above.

The app is currently in alpha version and is not available in Android market. To install this app:

  • Modify the settings of your phone to allow installation of applications from “Unknown sources”. That can be found under Settings -> Applications (for Android 2.x devices) or under Settings -> Security  (for Android 4.x devices)
  • Then you can just navigate to this link in your phone browser and then click on Download.
  • When the download is done, go to the “Downloads” app in your phone and then click on the GnucashMobile entry.

The app is currently in testing stage, and though usable, its not recommended for production environment.
