US Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has suspended the ban on Galaxy Nexus. Samsung requested the suspension and the ban is lifted until a formal response from Apple is received. The court however rejected the suspension of ban on Galaxy Tab 10.1.

There is a lot of anger and protest, even from hard-core Apple users, over these two bans. #BoycottApple is still trending on Google+ and Twitter reflecting the anger of users over this controvercial ban.

Google has removed Galaxy Nexus from its Play Store and plans to resume it with Android 4.1 and a work around to remove the 'unified search' which was the cause of this ban.

The ban on Galaxy Tab 10.1 is infuriating users and bloggers even more because it is based on a stupid design patent. There are many prior art examples which clearly state that this patent should not have been granted in the first place.

As Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols writes on Zdnet, "Judge Koh claims that “Samsung appears to have created a design that is likely to deceive an ordinary observer.” True, from a distance of ten feet, it's not easy to tell them apart. It's not easy to tell any tablet apart from any other tablet at that range. Most people I know prefer to use tablets at arm's reach, but that's just me."

He further added, "In fact, it looks pretty much like every tablet that's ever been created in history. That's because, “It's A Tablet!!” There is nothing innovative or original about its design. It's A Tablet!! We had wax tablets in Roman times. We had tablets on Star Trek in the 60s, and even Windows tablets like the Compaq Concerto in the 90s."

Don't all TV sets, laptops, cars, etc. look same? I have yet to find that person who brought home a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 because he was deceived by the looks and thought it was an iPad. He did not see the Apple logo or giant Samsung name on it. He did not even see that Android logo?

Look at the image above and tell me will you buy this tablet thinking its an Apple iPad even if it clearly says Samsung Galaxy Tab? And if you don't know the difference between the two, then you clearly did not want the iPad, you just wanted a tablet. So, what difference does it make if you buy the iPad or the Galaxy Tab?

Apple has been abusing the system and unfortunately our legal system is assisting Apple in bullying other players.

We need more judges like William Alsup and Richard Posner.
