The Calligra suite, which is a set of 8 applications comprising of Office, Graphics and Project management softwares for the KDE desktop has released a new testing version this week. The 2.5 beta version contains a lot of changes and features and hopefully a stable version will be released within a month.
Among the notable new features, Sheets have got a new stand alone docker of its own, thus making data entry easier in the spreadsheets. Previously, users would have to use the standard tool docker which was disadvantageous. Sheets also have a new cell tool window that will give more control and ease in cell formatting.
The painting application Krita has improved a lot of features on canvas handling system, and rotation and scaling can be done when other tools are active. Kexi, a database application features a full screen mode and new GUI elements for form design such as Command Link Button, Slider, Progress bar and Date Picker Widgets. All applications feature a new system of connecting shapes which are powerful as well as easy to use.
