Ubuntu

As we reported earlier Ubuntu teams are hosting an online application development showdown event to attract new developers. The first week of the event has successfully conducted and two more weeks still to go, so if you missed it you still have a lot of time to follow the event in the coming weeks.

There were two days of video conference workshop during this week. The conference was free for anyone to join and ask questions.

Ubuntu teams used subreddit for engaging developers where some developers also showcased their new apps. AskUbuntu also witnessed increase traffic and activities with more than 70 new app-development related questions posted this week alone.

A total of 17 apps were highlighted in Ubuntu developer blog. You can view a preview of these apps, including a short description from this page. Some of these applications are quite promising, including a download manager and a client to manage Google drive and Docs.

If you wish to develop apps for Ubuntu, you should consider joining these workshops. Have a look at this post to know more about these workshops and future dates.
