Canonical has partnered with the Humble Indie Bundle for their newest collection of games. Ubuntu users will be able to install their games using the Ubuntu Software Center.
David Pitkin of Canonical writes, "Just like previous releases, the Humble Indie Bundle 5 lets customers name their own price, paying only what they think the software is worth. The proceeds are then split between the game developers, charities and the Humble Bundle organizers. For this bundle, the chosen charities are EFF and Child’s Play."
Linux had the concept of AppStore before Apple even thought about it. With Ubuntu Software Center, Canonical has taken it to the next level. With the availability of paid content on USC, vendors can clearly see there is a paid market for Linux. The most interesting thing about indie bundle is that you can pay what you want for the bundle of games.
Canonical has a very well documented page for Game and app developers. It's time to port your apps, games to Linux.
