SUSE, a division of Attachmate, has announced the release of an early development snapshot of its OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure solution. According to the company, SUSE Cloud is "the industry's first, fully configured, OpenStack-powered appliance based on OpenStack's latest version". The development preview is based on the current release of the open source cloud platform – the OpenStack project's fourth release (2011.3) code-named "Diablo" – and runs on top of version 11 SP1 of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).
