One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel. We saw an example of this phrase today. The entire online media went blind today and announced the victory of Apple in the Dutch court today.
The irony is they are all wrong. They all point to one bad apple which has been misleading them by twisting facts. Here is the correct version of what happened today at the Dutch court: Apple Loses Court Battle In Europe, Samsung Free To Sell Galaxy Tabs.
But, let's see how leading online papers tried to twist the story.
Huffington Post: Netherlands Judge: Samsung Galaxy Smartphones Violate Apple Patents
Really? The judge found 9 out of 10 Apple patent claims invalid and the remaining one is related to they way photos are shown on the phones -- the judge gave Samsung 7 weeks to fix it, otherwise it will be banned. So, HP finds rejection of 9 patents a victory of Apple? Wow!
eWeek: Apple Wins Samsung Injunction In Dutch Court
The same story. Quoting the same source neglecting the fact that the ban will be imposed in October if Samsung fails to fix the single patent issue.
ZDNet UK: Dutch court blocks Galaxy phones in parts of Europe
Any would you like to tell me ZDnet UK when and under which conditions the ban is imposed?
Register: Apples wins (another) Samsung Android injunction in EU
Register, the UK tabloit, is far from reality, stuck in Steve Job's RDF. My question to Reg again, how do you find losing 9 out of 10 patents a victory for Apple? And how do you explain the permission to continue to sell Galaxy phones, and getting seven weeks to fix infringing patent via softrware update a defeat for Samsung?
The Inquirer: Samsung Galaxy smartphones are banned in Europe
No Kate, the Fruit themed Apple has not won, if you read anything beyond the blog site that you used. As we covered in this story its Samsung which won and Apple which lost.
The way these leading online bloggers covered this report is shameful. If you don't understand technology or law, just stay out of it.
An advice for these reporters: One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel.
If you find such misleading/wrong reporting about Samsung, report it here under the comment section with your opinion.
