It all started with a big bang and now the makers are ready to add more bang to this famous sitcom. Yes, we are talking about the famous CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory which is currently showcasing the seventh season. According to latest reports, the comedy bang will continue for another three seasons, with a three year renewal of the contract. So now you can be sure to see Season 10 with the nerds and their comedy of errors.
Who knows, we might see Sheldon finally settling down with Amy Farrah Fowler in Season 10 or if the creatives add a little twist and make Sheldon come out of the closet and propose to Leonard!
Chuck Lorre’s comedy has grown to become US television’s highest-rated programme, averaging 19.8 million viewers and a big 6.1 rating in its current seventh season and Warner Bros TV is currently undertaking contract renewals with its main cast, comprising Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik.
However, according to Variety, Warner Bros. is currently in talks with the key cast members – Parsons, Galecki, and Cuoco – as the three stars reportedly banded together, seeking huge raises in their new contracts. In 2013, they were each making $325,000 per episode and were hoping to increase to $1 million per episode.
“Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television,” CBS Entertainment chairman, Nina Tassler was quoted as saying.
CBS is also expected to renew Chuck Lorre’s sitcoms Two and a Half Men, Mike and Molly and Mom.
