Motorola now selling Moto X for $399

Motorola has started 2014 with great news for everyone. The company is now selling its Moto X for just $399 without any strings attached – and you can customize it too.

Rick Osterloh, Senior Vice President – Product Management, said in a company blog, “So from today forward we’re offering Moto X at an everyday starting price of just $399 on any major US carrier, without a contract. This includes customized devices.”

Motorola’s move is a game changer, especially in the US, where customers get locked into two year contracts and actually end up paying more for the device.

Motorola reflects Google’s view on hardware. “Because you should have the freedom to buy a great device when you want, without chaining yourself down,” added Rick.
