Google launches new tablets for the holiday season

With the holiday season approaching, two new devices have made their way into the Google Play Store. A white version of Google’s Nexus 7 and a Google Play Edition of LG’s tablet, the G Pad Google Play Edition.

Google Nexus 7 White

Going with the holiday theme, Google has given its Nexus a white makeover, only on its back though. Until you flip the tablet to its back, it will be difficult to differentiate between the black versions and the white ones; the users will still be looking at the same black front-end. The white Nexus 7 is currently restricted to the 32GB Wi-Fi model and is priced at $269. Unfortunately, this model will only be available in the US, UK and Japan.

LG G Pad Google Play Edition

LG’s G Pad Google Play Edition sports the same configuration that its original version is available in. It sports an 8.3″ screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution giving a pixel density of 273 PPI. It is powered by 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and 2 GB RAM. The G Pad Google Play Edition has an internal memory of 16 GB and can be expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card. It has a battery capacity of 4600 mAH. LG has not changed the price and so the G Pad Google Play Edition is available for $349. The tablet seems to be aimed at customers who want a pure Android 4.4 (KitKat) experience which will also ensure that the device will receive quicker updates.
