Android founder Andy Rubin is heading a secret robotics project at Google

The creator of the most sought after ‘android’ of the world has been secretly working on creating a robotic division within Google. The search engine giant has acquired over seven robotics companies recently to create the robotics unit which is being headed by none other than Andy Rubin himself. Andy made the disclosure in an interview given to the Times.

The interview seems to be timed very well to come right after Amazon’s revelation that they are working on drone-based deliveries. Though there are a lot of hurdles Jeff Bezos‘ – founder and CEO or Amazon – team will have to cross before it becomes a reality.

Andy told the Time, “I have a history of making my hobbies into a career. This is the world’s greatest job. Being an engineer and a tinkerer, you start thinking about what you would want to build for yourself.”

tGoogle is not new to automation, they are already testing their self-driven cars and they are also gathering huge amount of data to understand humans. So whether Google will create these robots to mere assist us morals or will it create robots to replace us.

  1. Bezos is an idiot, drones will never deliver, just the liability alone will make sure of that.
I wonder how ethical it is to continue robotics development in a World of declining jobs and increasing population.

That’s the only discussion we should be having.
