BBM App for Android finally launched

BlackBerry Messenger App, aka, BBM was a hit even before it was officially made available on the Google Play Store. The company claims that there were over 1 million Android users of the app. The company tried to launch the app but then it changed its plans. The app is finally available for Android users through Google Play Store.

While you can get the app and install it on your devices, you may not be able to use it instantly. Anticipating surge of users BlackBerry has chosen a registration path where upon successful installation a user will have to register and then….just wait.

BlackBerry says about its roll-out plan:

Download BBM – the easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser*
Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line
We will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM

The company has also published a video to help users with the app
