Google announces Haswell powered Chromebooks

Intel and Google have announced new Chromebooks powered by the much talked about Haswell processors. Two major PC vendors ASUS and Toshiba have joined the Chrome OS club which include Samsung, Acer and HP. While HP and Acer are offering new Chromebooks, ASUS is brining new Chromebox to the market.

One of the features of these new Chrome OS devics are Intel’s much talked about Haswell chips. These chips are known for longer battery lives.

Two most popular devices running these chips and boasting of better battery lives are Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus and Apple MacBook Air. Both devices brag about more than 12 hours of battery, Google is making the same claims. Google says that “these new Chromebooks last almost all day so you can focus on getting things done.”

While the PC shipments are declining these cheap Chromebooks are becoming increasingly popular. Now six major PC vendors offer Chromebooks.

  1. But now when MediaTek,Rockchip,Allwinner are also launching big.LITTLE SoC processors will these SoC of course be cheaper than Intel SoC Haswell.
So, with ARM big.LITTLE SoC concept will ARM-based SoC be both cheaper than Intel SoC Haswell and have same properties in capacity.
