Valve Releases Dota2 For Linux

DoTA, or Defense of the Ancients, was mod made for the game Warcraft III. It was so popular that the mod spawned a cult following. The following was so great that the mod was noticed by Valve, who decided that a standalone game based on the Source Engine would be a profitable venture. So they decided on making the sequel, named DoTA 2 based on the Source Engine, with the original designer of the Mod as the lead designer for this game and the result of this gamble was a hugely successful Beta test, which saw thousands of gamers sign up. Recently, Valve brought the game out of its beta stage. Soon on the heels of that announcement, Valve announced that the game would also be released for Linux. The new version will have some performance improvement along with game balancing tweaks too.
