Google‘s executive chairman Eric Schmidt was spotted using the Moto X phone at the Allen and Co. conference yesterday. This is the first time we got to see the phone in action although it is in the hands of another. As seen before, the phone has a textured white back while the front half of the phone is black. The camera is placed in the center along with the Motorola logo hanging below it. The pictures show the device being used by Eric Schmidt at the conference.
More information on the customization abilities of the phone include changeable back covers. Not only is it available in a variety of colors but according to Android and Me founder Taylor Wimbley even the material of the back can be changed, a variety of options include plastic, wood, ceramic, fabric and perhaps even more. Wimbley also posted on Google+ “features a curved design engineered from ground up for personalization.” Although only wood and plastic will be available at launch on the 23rd of August, the rest of the materials will come out gradually. He also mentioned that AT&T has an exclusive “thing” for the device’s launch, it’s not clear what but it could be an exclusive color or material.
Considering the customizable prowess of the phone, it’s amusing to see it being used by a corporate person. For now we can simply gaze at the pictures and imagine the phone in action.
