AOKP or Android Kang Project is an open forum of Android ROM development community that has been behind the release of some really good ROMs. But of late there hasn’t been any definitive releases from them, though they have been busy testing their latest ROM behind the scene. Their latest rom is the stable release of AOKP Jelly Bean Milestone 2, a highly customized version of the stock Jellybean version of android.
The Milestone 2 has a ton of features built right into it, along with the option of customizing almost all aspect of the ROM. A new Superuser is also included, as is an HDR camera mode, to name a few. But the most striking feature is the Ribbons, a built in quick launcher. It can be launched by swiping the screen from any side. This will reveal a customized vertical list of apps and shortcuts to slide in from the left. As of now the supported devices are as follows:
- HTC One (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and International)
- Samsung Galaxy S4 (All four major US carriers [AT&T was already supported], plus US Cellular)
- Samsung Galaxy Note II (AT&T, T-Mobile, International)
- Sony Xperia Z
- Sony Xperia Tablet Z
- Sony Xperia ZL
- Sony Xperia V
- Sony Xperia T
New devices are being added regularly and a device’s compatibility can be checked from its respective forum.
